Can my wife have her recent DUI dismissed in california with a good lawyer?
my wife received a DUI
She blew a .10 in Los Angeles, downtown area.
two lawyers we visited said they could (and have) beat charges like this in the past. this seems unrealistic, and I was hoping someone who has gone through this process could provide insight.
how strict is the california conviction rate, what’s the best we can hope for etc….
And why do you want to "beat" the charges???? She was driving under the influence of alcohol, probably speeding or something. She broke the law, now pay the fine, take the points on her license and don’t do it again.
If she has prior similar incidents, and still drove under the influence, then she deserves what she gets.

only way is to win the case without charges, most states will keep those type of records on your record indefinitely

Not even the best lawyer can dismiss your wives’s DUI because it stays on your record forever.

Downtown LA and blew a .10?
Wow.
I suppose that they could beat the charge if they could find some technicality, but it has been my experience that Los Angeles is probably not the best venue for trying to beat a case like this. Maybe if they could get it moved to Ventura…
My prediction is a solid conviction, a weekend in jail, a thousand dollar fine, three hundred dollars in court costs, towing fees for the car, impound fees for the car, a substantial premium increase on car insurance at next renewal – or possibly a flat cancellation of the policy, and an entry in the paper’s ‘crime beat’ log.
Harsh…but true.

anything is possible if you hire an attorney that knows the right people, it’s all about who they know.
